Each of these takes a fixed set of things that already exists in the world, asks one question with a number for an answer, and follows that number until it says something the set alone would not.

    How long an unequipped modern human would survive in each interval of Earth's history. Oxygen is the filter for four billion years, then food takes over, and only the last 1.5% would let you live out a normal life.

    How long you last in Rome, century by century, arriving with nothing. Survival does not track how rich the city is. It tracks whether the city has a category for you, and Rome at a million people will own you while Rome at seventeen thousand will feed you.
